Hi, guys! I'm moving to intheattempt . I wanted to change my name but didn't want to drop $15.  Anyway, it's a fresh start and I'm eager to see you there!

Hope everyone's having a fantastic summer! I just finished the crew season, and before that were finals and an awful respiratory infection that sent me to the hospital ER. Those fun life scenarios are what kept me from here so long. :/

I'm a bit worn down, have been for about 2 weeks now, which is why my participation's been off. Apparently I had caffeine poisoning from last Thursday through the weekend. I've been taking naps like a champ all week going on a average sleep time of 2 hours a night. It's been fun.
Today that was exacerbated by re-injuring my shoulder at crew practice. :(

I get to write my final paper for my college writing class on Doctor Who. I'm excited for that. In exploring possible topics, though, I discovered steampunk. I don't know much about it, but I'd like to know more. There are also some really interesting books that deal with a Roman Empire that's survived into modern times.

Anyone read anything wonderful recently? Or really, really bad? I had to read a painful book for my psychology class, Madman - Strange Adventures of a Psychology Intern.

Today, I learned that one of the most prominent authors of my childhood, Brian Jacques, died yesterday at the age of 71.  He wrote the wonderful Redwall series.

I'm having an alright day besides that. Today's going to be my first day back at kickboxing. I'm looking for a job, though not very hard until I figure some stuff out.

I watched Charade last Sunday, but forgot to mention it. It's surprisingly dark for a movie with Audrey Hepburn in it, though I haven't seen Wait Until Dark, so maybe it's just the middle in terms of that in her range of film. (If that makes any sense). Anyway, it was pretty cool. She starred alongside Cary Grant, in a suspenseful movie set in France. What's not to like?

Next, I'll either watch "Arsenic and Old Lace" or "Bringing Up Baby."

Hello, there! I hope everyone's weekend is off to a great start. I saw Easy A yesterday, for the third time but the first time with other people, (though I ducked out for a few minutes to accompany erethesunrises on a pancake adventure). Before that I attended a screening of House, the Japanese movie that was made as a response to "Jaws." That was easily the weirdest, worst movie I've ever seen in my life. It was HILARIOUS. And in two weeks, the film class that put it on is screening Dead Snow, the Norwegian horror film about NAZI ZOMBIES.
Trailer for Dead Snow and my class schedule under the cutCollapse )

 Hey all!
Sorry I've been dead. College is going pretty well. I'm on the crew team, which means I get up at 4 every morning. (3:30 for the past week because I sliced open a finger and I have to tape it extra thoroughly to keep Anacostia water out of it. I don't want to have to amputate it, or grow fins). However, that means that most of my waking life is spent as a zombie and I have yet to manage time effectively.

My first regatta with collegiate crew is on Sunday. :) I'm going to race twice, with a total of 12,000 meters (both races). I also have to work on my third college paper. :/

I LOVE IT. I WANT TO SEE IT AGAIN. That was soo good. I think it might be the best movie I've ever seen. I had thought that with all the hype, I would be disappointed, but it was wonderful.
My thoughts, may be slightly spoileryCollapse )

Hope it's wonderful! You're a really amazing person and I'm really glad to know you. :)

The pilots of Supernatural, the X-Files, Doctor Who, Emma, and A Bit of Fry and Laurie are available on iTunes, along with some others, for FREE.

Just thought I'd share. Nothing much to report. Getting a filling replaced tomorrow at the dentist, then going to a Jonsi concert.

I hope you all are well.

My layout seems to have gone too hell, but I'm to tired to mess with it right now. Tomorrow is a Roman holiday, in celebration of Saints Peter and Paul (patrons of Rome). I can sleep in and not go to work, because everything will be closed. The FIFA fanfest in Villa Borghese (the equivalent of Central Park) is, hopefully, an exception. It'd be awesome to go there and watch the Portugal (Ronaldo!!! :D) v. Spain game. The one good side of Italians getting booted so miserably (besides the entertainment THAT provides of course - the team got egged on arrival at the airport. My brother's friends were part of the crowd that did that) is that they're so enthusiastic for all the other games. They might still have been even with Italy still in the running, but it feels like there's no longer an edge. Argentina and Germany are apparently the most popular.

Also at the Fanfest event, Sony is premiering 3-D TVs and allowing demos. They're pretty cool. It's not 3-D like a movie theater, but it's more like looking in on a doll house. They had a special setup where you could see what a soccer game would look like in that format. It was REALLY awesome. They also had videogames to be played on the TVs.

Who else has a goodreads account? I recently got one.  This is my account.

Hope everyone is well. :)
